Hello World!

I'm finally beginning to see some of the advantages of transmitting video via broadband internet connections. A few weeks ago, Dutch news site Nu.nl introduced video streams with some of their broadcasts, which are really quite useful, even via my legendary bad internet connection. I've even found myself a lot less inclined to also watch the news on television, with much of it already available online. I doubt entertainment television will ever become really popular on the internet, as I at least really have no desire to interact with the shows I'm watching, I just want to be entertained for an hour. However, I'm already getting most of my news via the internet - if they now also add in updated video content I can certainly foresee me switching away from newspapers and television news broadcasts altogether.

Poll Results

Below are the results of the most recent TrekToday poll:

What is the worst Star Trek movie?
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier 51.3% - (333 Votes)
Star Trek: The Motion Picture 18.1% - (118 Votes)
Star Trek: Insurrection 11% - (72 Votes)
Star Trek: Generations 7.3% - (48 Votes)
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country 3.6% - (24 Votes)
Star Trek III: The Search For Spock 2.6% - (17 Votes)
Star Trek: First Contact 2.3% - (15 Votes)
Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan 1.6% - (11 Votes)
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home 1.6% - (11 Votes)

Total Votes: 649

It's interesting to see these results are almost directly the opposite of the favourite movie poll a few months ago, though I suppose that was only to be expected.

The new poll asks you how many times you've seen 'Star Trek: Insurrection', the latest Trek film:

Happy Birthday!

September the 3rd would have been the 41st birthday of Merrit Butrick, who played Kirk's son David Marcus in 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan' and 'Star Trek II: The Search of Spock', had he not sadly died in 1989. Thanks go out to Jim for this!
