On a low-rated Friday night overall for UPN, Star Trek: Enterprise finished in last place in its time slot.

Zap2It did not report the actual fast national numbers for last night's episode, "United", only that it had finished behind What I Like About You and a rerun of Reba on the WB. Last week, "Babel One" finished ahead of What I Like About You and the finale of the poorly-rated Grounded for Life.

UPN's fellow Viacom network CBS won the night for the second week in a row, as new series Numb3rs, which had brought in a 9.8/17 last week, dropped to a 7.8/13 yet easily won the 10 p.m. hour. In direct competition with Enterprise, Dateline NBC and CBS' special The Greatest Super Bowl Commercials tied for first place, with ABC's 8 Simple Rules in third place and The Bernie Mac Show on Fox in fourth.

UPN brought in only a 1.4 rating average overall for the night, while CBS had a 6.8. Among adults, ABC came out on top with 2.8 while UPN got a 0.8.

The announcement of a show's cancellation sometimes deters viewers from continuing to watch, as seems to have happened with Grounded For Life, but sometimes it has the opposite effect. The announcement that Everybody Loves Raymond would wrap production was closely followed by one of its most highly-rated episodes.

A more complete summary of the fast national ratings report is at Zap2It.
