Hello World!

You know, I think I should write about tv shows more often – they earn me the most feedback for some reason. But that shall not be my topic for tonight. In fact, I don't really have a topic for tonight. Or today. Or whatever time it is when you chance to read this.

I actually spent about half an hour this evening with a bone sticking out of my leg.

No, it's not as bad as it sounds – it was fake. Amazing what you can do really with just an old bit of beef bone, some flesh-colored play-dough or putty, some makeup, talcum powder and fake blood. It's really quite a pity that I'm such a bad actor… or at least that I found myself unable to take the first-aid demonstration we were doing seriously. It's rather hard when neither of the other two conscious casualties aren't. Put it this way – one of the cadets who's skills were on display wound up gagging Alan, much to our collective amusement, after he did one 'I'm - supposed - to – be – in – pain – but – I'm – not – really' moan to many. Since it was the Division's wind-up night, we spent the rest of the evening chasing the cadets around the playground with rolled-up newspapers and laughing as they tried (with little success and much whacking of each other with aforementioned newspapers) to break open the piñata provided for the occasion.
