Visitor Wants To Be First Lady

Nana Visitor (Major Kira Nerys) will play the timely role of the wife of a Democratic presidential candidate in the 2008 film Swing Vote.

Kelsey Grammer (Captain Morgan Bateson) also appears in the film as the Republican incumbent, according to StarTrek.com. Dennis Hopper plays Visitor's husband in the film, which stars Kevin Costner.

Swing Vote is a fictional version of the events of the US presidential election of 2000, decided by a few potentially miscast votes in Florida. In the new movie, the electoral vote is dependent on the outcome in New Mexico, where one individual can affect the outcome in the county that will determine the direction for the state. The two candidates bring the full force of their election campaigns to bear to win the critical vote from Costner's character - an apathetic single father.

The film was shot largely in New Mexico, where Visitor lives and shoots Wildfire for ABC Family. The actress recently had scenes with another president, when her guest role on Ron Moore's Battlestar Galactica put her in scenes with Mary McDonnell, aka President Laura Roslin.
