Captain Archer will reportedly get the shock of his life when he wakes up on an Enterprise that's not quite right next season.

Sources today revealed the first plot information for "Twilight", the eighth episode of season three to go into production. The episode is reportedly set six months into Enterprise's future.

Jonathan Archer is sleeping in bed when the ship is suddenly attacked. He wakes up and tries to contact the bridge. No answer. As the NX-01 is hit again, he heads for the door, but there's a security guard there, who tells Archer he can't leave his quarters. When Archer asks why, the guard replies he has orders from Enterprise's captain.

Archer is dumbstruck, but another weapons blast to the hull knocks the guard off his feet and Archer rushes out of his quarters, giving the guard the slip.

This is certainly a very different Enterprise from the one Jonathan Archer is familiar with. The bridge is severely damaged, and while Hoshi Sato and Malcolm Reed are still members of the bridge crew, there's no sign of Mayweather. And the commanding officer? Meet Starfleet Captain T'Pol...

Please note that these plot details have not yet been confirmed by Paramount Pictures and until such time you should treat them as you would any other rumour. The information comes from an early draft of the script and details may change before the episode enters production.

"Twilight" will likely air in late October, 2003.
