Paramount Home Entertainment has announced details for a special two-disc edition of Star Trek: Insurrection to be released on DVD on June 7th.

A listing published at StarTrek.com reveals that seven deleted scenes, eleven production featurettes and a feature on "Star Trek's Beautiful Alien Women" will be highlights of the new Insurrection DVD, which will contain the film in widescreen enhanced for 16:9 TVs with several audio options and text commentary by Michael & Denise Okuda.

Seven comprehensive interviews with cast and crew will detail the making of the movie, with a number of featurettes on special and visual effects, such as "Creating the Illusion" on acting in front of a bluescreen, "Anatomy of a Stunt", a look at the shuttle chase and a segment on the duck blind.

The deleted scenes include one tantalisingly titled "The Kiss", another called "Flirting", plus an alternate ending, "Ru'afo's Facelift" and "Working Lunch" among others. Storyboards and a photo gallery will be included as has become usual on film special editions, plus the trailers. Other production features include "Location, Location, Location", a director's notebook, a showcase of the art of the movie and a look at Michael Westmore's aliens.

The original announcement may be found at StarTrek.com. The current release of Insurrection on Region 1 DVD is available at Amazon.com, which does not yet have a listing for the new edition.
