A black hole will have unforeseen consequences for the NX-01 crew in the upcoming Enterprise episode 'Singularity.'

StarTrek.com yesterday released the below synopsis for the episode, which is currently scheduled to air on November 13:

While Enterprise surveys a black hole that's part of a trinary star system, the ship's proximity to the stellar phenomenon has a strange effect on the crew.

'Singularity' was penned by co-executive producer Chris Black, who wrote the teleplay for 'Carbon Creek' earlier in the season. 'Fallen Hero' helmer Patrick Norris returned to the Enterprise soundstages to helm the episode; his other work includes installments of Roswell, Chicago Hope, and Once and Again.

Matthew Kaminsky, who plays Cunningham, is the sole guest star listed for the episode. Kaminsky has appeared in a variety of shows such as Friends, The Practice, and Charmed. He also had a small role in the baseball TV movie '61*' alongside Enterprise star Connor Trinneer (Charlie 'Trip' Tucker).

The episode, which takes place entirely onboard the NX-01, was shot over seven days from September 23 to October 1. In addition to regular shipboard locations such as crew quarters, engineering, and the bridge, 'Singularity' marks the debut of the new galley set. However, it is not known whether this will also mean an appearance by Enterprise's resident culinary wizard - Chef.

In a recent interview, executive producer Rick Berman described 'Singularity' as a "day-in-the-life" episode (story). "We sort of follow Archer and the gang through a typical day on the Enterprise, but all of a sudden there's a rash of obsessive-compulsive behavior going on. T'Pol and Archer are teamed up in an effort to save everyone's lives. There's a lot of humor in it, but it's pretty scary as well."
