Taylor & Shatner's 'Memorable Moments'

The official site, continuing its spate of updates, has posted the latest addition to their Voyager ‘memorable moments’, which asks a cast or crew member what their favourite moment related to the show was. This time, Jeri Taylor, co-creator of the show, former executive producer and now Creative Consultant took to the microphone – and couldn’t pick. "I gave a lot of thought to your question about a 'most memorable' moment," she told the site, "and finally decided that I couldn’t single one out." She does describe it, however, and the rest of her time on Trek, as a "life-changing event" and one that she will treasure. Her 'moment', and that of other cast and crew, most recently actress Roxanne Dawson (B'Elanna Torres), can be found by following this link.

In keeping somewhat with the 'memorable moments' theme, the site has also posted a partial transcript of William Shatner’s appearance last night on ‘The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn’. While most of his slot appears to have been taken up with a discussion of his latest projects and talk of his new wife, Elizabeth Martin, whom he married the day before Valentines day, he does take some time out to share an anecdote from his TOS days.

"We had an early morning out in the desert at Vasquez Rocks," Shatner began, "so I said to Wardrobe, instead of me getting there at 4:00 in the morning, I'll get there at 4:30. I'll take the wardrobe home and I'll get into it in the morning." The next morning, however, her got pulled over for speeding. “A cop pulls me over at 4:00 in the morning, it's dead dark...and I got out of my car in my Star Trek uniform. And I turned around and I said, 'What is this? I've got 400 people to command! I'm on my way to the spaceship! Now what exactly do you want, sir?'" The officer was stunned. "He said, 'Well, I-I uh... I, uh...'" — he made a waving gesture — "'Well, get along.’”

"The only thing was, I walked back to my car," Shatner continued, "and then I began to wilt. And as I turned around to see what he was doing, he said, 'Beam me up, Scotty.'"
