Billingsley Hates the New York Yankees

John Billingsley (Phlox) expressed his frustration with conservative American politics and discussed strange fan behaviour in a new interview about his likes and dislikes.

Speaking to Dreamwatch (via SciFi Pulse), Billingsley replied to a question about who or what annoys him by saying, "The Republican Party, the people who deny global warming is real...[U.S. Supreme Court Justices] Antonin Scalia [and] Clarence Thomas." He also included actors who throw tantrums on the set, the New York Yankees and media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

Billingsley said that his dream science fiction role would be to play Winston Smith in George Orwell's dystopian classic 1984. He added that he would not mind having Phlox as his own doctor because the Enterprise physician can "cure cancer with a wave of his little scanner", but he did not like the fact that Phlox had used leeches on a patient.

Asked about the weirdest gift he ever received from a fan, Billingsley recalled that it was a tin of escargot. "And one fan sent all of us pictures of himself, autographed...Dominic [Keating] put his up on his trailer wall."

The full interview is in issue #138 of Dreamwatch. These excerpts are courtesy SciFi Pulse.
