Captain Archer and his crew will find themselves in a temporal condundrum in the season four premiere.

StarTrek.com yesterday released the below official synopsis for "Storm Front, Part I", scheduled to air on Friday, October 8:

Archer and the NX-01 find themselves in Earth's past, with events of World War II altered by the Temporal Cold War.

"Storm Front" was penned by co-executive producer and new Enterprise showrunner Manny Coto, whose previous credits include "Similitude" and "Chosen Realm". Veteran Star Trek director Allan Kroeker ("What You Leave Behind", "Endgame") took the helm of the episode, having directed last season's cliffhanger, "Zero Hour".

The episode will feature the following guest actors:

  • Golden Brooks as Alicia
  • Joe Maruzzo as Sal
  • Jack Gwaltney as Vosk
  • Tom Wright as Ghrath
  • John Harnagel as Joe Prazki
  • Steven R. Schirripa as Carmine
  • John Fleck as Silik
  • Matt Winston as Daniels
  • Christopher Neame as German General
  • Sonny Surowiec as Nazi Soldier #1

Golden Brooks stars as Maya Wilkes in UPN's Monday-night comedy series, Girlfriends. She has also appeared in Moesha, The Parkers and Haunted. Joe Maruzzo has made guest appearances in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Law & Order and plays the recurring role of Joe Peeps on The Sopranos.

Jack Gwaltney has appeared in shows such as CSI: Miami, Providence, Now & Again and Third Watch. Tom Wright is probably best known to Trek fans as Tuvix in the Voyager episode of the same name; he has also guest starred in Seinfeld, Any Day Now and Boomtown.

John Harnagel has appeared in Malcolm in the Middle and Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, while Steven R. Schirripa has a regular role as Bobby 'Bacala' Baccalieri on The Sopranos.

John Fleck and Matt Winston will be familiar names to Enterprise fans, having played their respective roles of Silik the Suliban and Daniels since season one. Christopher Neame has also appeared on Trek before, guest starring as Unfirth in Voyager's "Heroes and Demons". Sonny Surowiec has worked as a stunt man on Excess Baggage and the Tarzan TV Series.

Filming on "Storm Front" kicked off on July 15, with both parts of the episode being shot simeltaneously over a two-week period. As noted above, Allan Kroeker was at the helm for part one, with David Straiton calling the shots on part two. After two days of filming on regular NX-01 sets, production moved to Stage 9 where Scott Bakula (Jonathan Archer) and several guest actors shot scenes in a New York apartment set.

For the exterior New York scenes, the production team used the Paramount backlots, previously seen doubling for Detroit in season three's "Carpenter Street". Part one also involved location shooting for Bakula, Connor Trinneer ('Trip' Tucker) and Anthony Montgomery (Travis Mayweather) at Sable Ranch in Canyon Country.
