Site Columns

Hello World!

Well, tonight I remember I had something very witty to start off my site columns with… but I’ve forgotten. Couldn’t really have been all that great then, hey? It’s probably something to do with the heat – I don’t normally notice the heat that much – and when I do, I tend to sit on or in front of the air conditioner, but I’m really rather surprised to discover just how much heat three PC’s generate in a room with only a fan.

In other news, I’m still not a happy trekkie right now, and I’ve come to the conclusion that my current level of happiness is inversely proportional to the amount of ‘Human Error’ spoilers that I read. This, I suppose, could be rather easily solved by me stopping reading them, but, unfortunately from my personal standpoint, Christian (whom I swear will be on full-time promo-transcribing for Series V or else!) is busy working behind the scenes, leaving yours truly stuck wading ankle deep through icky spoilers about my favourite pairing – or it’s quite possibly soon-to-be lack of. But the other day I did manage to find something to cheer me up – a wonderfully hilarious bit of fan fiction over at the alt.startrek.creative newsgroup. It’s called ‘Just Plain Mean’ by monkee and, though it’s defiantly not something for the kiddies, it’s a great tonic for anyone feeling put-out by the potential of Seven and Chakotay getting together, or really for anyone who's in need of a laugh.

Trek Two Years Ago

Two years ago today, on Monday, March 1st 1999, these were some of the headlines of the day:

  • Trekzone.net Wants You - Beleive it or not, two years ago today they were looking for programmers to help them design a P-BeM RPG. *I* wasn't here, so don't look at me like that.
  • 'The 34th Rule' Chat Rescheduled - Trekweb.com had to postpone its chat with the authors of the then-new DS9 novel 'The 34th Rule' to thursday, the 4th of March. The reason for this is that Armin Shimerman's schedule suddenly changed, making it impossible.
  • New Reviews - Jim Wright posted his review of 'the Disease' while Jamahl Epsicokhan (Jammer) posted his review of 'Dark Frontier'.
