Two Star Trek: Discovery Actors Leaving

1 min read

According to Deadline, at the end of Season 2, two Discovery actors will be making their departure.

Leaving will be Anson Mount (Captain Christopher Pike), and Rebecca Romijn (Number One), seen in An Obol for Charon. Both actors only had one-year deals.

Back in January, Alex Kurtzman spoke about Pike and canon, saying “This season we get inside his character in a way that we didn’t get to do in the films. And the fact that we will synchronize with canon by the end of this season, that means we may see shades of where we all know Pike will end up”

Pike lost out in both the Prime and the Abramsverse; being seriously injured and unable to communicate other than by beeps in one, and killed by Khan in the other.

It will be interesting to see if Saru steps up to the big chair next season, or if a new captain is brought in for Season Three.
