In two separate interviews with Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, Jonathan Frakes dropped a clue about the forthcoming Picard show.
Admitting that the Next Generation cast would love roles on the new Picard show, Frakes went on to give a small bit of information about the new show. “Patrick isn’t playing Capt. Jean-Luc Picard this time. He’s done with Starfleet in this show. That’s about the only thing I do know about the show.”
When asked by The Hollywood Reporter if he did indeed have a role in the new Picard show, Frakes said, “I’m not allowed to say what role I have in the new series.”
This is intriguing news. The show is about Jean-Luc Picard, but post-Starfleet. Did he retire? Or did he leave for some other reason?
