James McAvoy, who has played a younger version of a character played by Sir Patrick Stewart before (Professor Charles Xavier in various X-Men films), wouldn’t mind playing a younger character of Stewart’s most well-known role; that of Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
After Stewart posted a picture showing a behind-the-scenes look at the writer’s room for the new series, McAvoy said, “Need a flashback guy???? Just saying @sirpatstew I’ve got previous experience and will work for autographs.”
