There is more talk about Sir Patrick Stewart returning to Star Trek.
The actor is “close to securing a deal” to return as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in a reboot of The Next Generation according to a TV source. “Deals are close to being struck.”
A source out of L.A. said “Patrick is looking pretty good to get back on board the Enterprise. There are some aspects of the deal to be finalized, but there is a verbal commitment from all parties.”
The same source also said that “animated series [are] also in the works, and Patrick could easily lend his voice to them.
“An announcement will be made in the next few weeks [San Diego Comic Con?] and the show should be out next year.”
As always, treat this as a rumor until verified.
