Star Trek 4 Director Chosen

1 min read

Variety reports that the director for Star Trek 4 has been announced and it’s a female.

S.J. Clarkson will be the first female to direct a Star Trek film. She is best-known for her work on shows such as Dexter, Bates Motel, Orange is the New Black, and Jessica Jones.

Chris Hemsworth will be returning as George Kirk in Star Trek 4. Sources told Variety that “a key plot point sees Pine’s character running into his father (Hemsworth) in a time travel ploy.”

The screenplay was written by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. J.J. Abrams and Lindsey Weber will produce Star Trek 4 through Bad Robot Productions. Skydance Media‘s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg will executive produce.

As for Quentin Tarantino? Supposedly, he is still writing for a Trek film and that film will follow the fourth one.
