Learn Klingon On Duolingo

1 min read

Duolingo, the “free-to-use language learning service,” has added a Klingon course to its offerings.

The addition came in response to one hundred-and-seventy thousand Duolingo users asking for the addition.

This course should serve primarily as a complement to literature studies, like for instance reading The Klingon Dictionary,” said Klingon expert Felix Malmenbeck, who is one of the team of five responsible for developing the Duolingo Klingon language course.

“My goal has been to gradually introduce grammar and then hit people with lots of vocabulary and try to make the sentences at least occasionally a bit fun,” Malmenbeck added.

Klingon is not the first “constructed language” to be offered by Duolingo. It follows Esperanto, and High Valyrian (Game of Thrones).
