Sonequa Martin-Green Interview And A New Clip

1 min read

This morning, Sonequa Martin-Green made an appearance on Los Angeles’ KTLA 5 where she spoke about her work on Star Trek: Discovery and shared a clip from episode fourteen.

Finding out about Star Trek returning was “a multilayer thing,” said Martin-Green. “I found out it was coming back to TV. Whoa, Star Trek coming back to TV is a big deal. And then they’re going to have a black woman at the helm. Whoa! And so it’s a very rich endowment.

Star Trek has always innovated diversity.”

A new clip from this Sunday’s episode – The War Without, The War Within – was shown which featured Martin-Green as Burnham and Michelle Yeoh as M.U. Georgiou. In this clip – Burnham is looking for help, but Georgiou is curious about Burnham and Sarek. The clip begins at the 2:15 mark.

In The War Without, The War Within, “back on the USS Discovery, Burnham and the crew are faced with the harsh reality of the war during their absence. In order to move forward, Starfleet must use unconventional tactics and sources to take their next action against the Klingons.”
