Shatner: I Could Be Kirk Again

1 min read

William Shatner spoke about playing Kirk again, even though the actor is eighty-six years old.

Kirk could theoretically appear in the next Trek movie, said Shatner, courtesy of virtual reality.

“I recently connected with a virtual reality company Ziva and they have virtual-realized me in two hundred-and-forty cameras all around shooting me,” he said. “So they can now produce my body and my face in any way, shape, or form – including what I was like fifty years ago.”

Shatner would enjoy working with Quentin Tarantino in the next Trek movie. “Lord yes,” he said. “What an interesting role that was and what it could be fifty years later: Captain Kirk is caught somewhere in the byways of the universe.

“Tarantino is a great director and I would love to work with him. [To appear] would be a wonderful thing. The fans have been so supportive.”

The actor has no plans to retire from acting, saying “What am I going to retire from and to? Look, we are having a good time here and we give money to charities. Would I retire from that and sit at home and watch television?

“No, I will die first – and that is probably what will happen.”
