Win A Trip To Discovery Premiere With Rainn Wilson

2 min read

A donation to a worthy cause will enter fans in a sweepstakes with a prize sure to please any Trek fan.

Rainn Wilson, who will be portraying Harry Mudd in the new series, is taking part in a new Star Trek Prizeo campaign.

“You and a friend can attend the Star Trek: Discovery premiere and cast party on September 19, 2017 as the guest of an interstellar con man—me,” said Wilson, on the campaign website. “We’ll beam you out and put you up in a hotel. You’ll see CBS’ hit new show before anyone else and hobnob with the stars. All it takes is a donation of $10 to LIDÈ Haiti.

“My wife, Holiday, and I started LIDÈ Haiti to help provide education to girls in rural Haiti. We use the arts to empower the girls in this community, and the results have been spectacular.”

LIDÈ is “an educational initiative that uses the arts and literacy to build resiliency and empower at-risk adolescent girls in rural Haiti, helping them to transition into academic or vocational education.

Established in response to the challenges faced by girls that were made visible in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake, LIDÈ programs seek to uplift young women and girls who have been denied equal access to education. LIDÈ trains and employs Haitian teachers and youth program facilitators, and collaborates with grassroots organizations and schools so that programs derive from local needs, strengthen local capacity, and foster the community support girls need to begin their educational journeys. The LIDÈ Foundation believes that arts in education inspires personal empowerment, resilience and self-efficacy.”

The minimum entry is ten dollars. Those donating at that level will receive a thank you e-card from Wilson, and one hundred entries. Other levels include a thank you video, exclusive t-shirt, Harry Mudd campaign puzzle, autograph, copy of Wilson’s The Bassoon King book and more. Those with deep pockets ($15,000 level) can attend lunch with Rainn and his wife in Malibu, along with all of the other perks being offered.
