Star Trek Las Vegas Trek-Themed Panels

Star Trek Las Vegas begins this week, and there are plenty of Trek-themed events for fans. Some have been listed below; the full list can be found here.

On Wednesday, fans can attend Gaaays In Spaaace with Nana Visitor and Dan Deevy. In this panel, Gays in Space has “been joined by countless members of the Star Trek family as we travel the country celebrating our long overdue inclusion in the Star Trek Universe. Come see our journey so far, discuss why it has taken so long to get here and discover all that we have planned for the future.” 9:00 AM-9:45 Am in Brasilia 4-6.

At 10:30 AM in Pavilion, Leonard Nimoy’s Farewell to the Fans  will takes place. A filmed version of Leonard’s last convention appearance at Creation’s Chicago Convention in 2011 will be shown, which “includes his slide presentation and narrative that covers the history of his life and career.”

Another Nimoy-themed event will the STLV premiere of Remembering Leonard Nimoy, a film produced and directed by Nimoy’s daughter Julie Nimoy and his son-in-law David Knight. This will take place Wednesday at 11:30 AM at Pavilion.

Fans hungry for Star Trek: Discovery news should plan on spending four hours at Pavilion beginning at 2:30 PM. There are four different panels: Inside the Star Trek: Discovery’s Writers Room (Kirsten Beyer, Ted Sullivan), Introducing Star Trek: Discovery (Mary Chieffo, Kenneth Mitchell, Sam Vartholomeos), Designing the Creatures of Star Trek: Discovery (Glenn Hetrick, Neville Page), and Star Trek: Discovery Comics and Novels Revealed (Kirsten Beyer, Sarah Gaydos, Mike Johnson, David Mack, Ed Schlesinger).

Some other panels of interest include: The Expanding Star Trek Comic Universe (Mike Johnson, J.K. Woodward, John Van Citters, Sarah Gaydos) on Thursday at 10:45 AM in Brasilia 4-6, Q&A – Eugene Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth on Thursday at 11:45 AM in Pavilion, Inside Trek: Star Trek Authors and Their Books at 12:45 PM in Brasilia 4-6, John Eaves Presentation: The Kelvin timeline – ship and prop design from the latest three Star Trek films, Friday 9:15 AM in Pavilion, Morgan Gendel (The Inner Light writer) on Friday at 9:45 AM at Brasilia 4-6, and Okudagrams: The development of the LCARS and Next Generation Graphic Design (Mike and Denise Okuda) on Friday 10:15 AM Brasilia 4-6.

On Friday night, the Next Generation 30th Anniversary Cast Reunion will take place. In attendance at this panel, to be held at 6 PM at Pavilion, will be Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, LeVar Burton, Denise Crosby and guest star John de Lancie. Terry Farrell will moderate the panel.

On Saturday night, The Inner Light Panel with Sir Patrick Stewart, Margot Rose, and Morgan Gendel will take place at 4:30 PM at Pavilion.

On Sunday, at 12:15, the What We Left Behind Panel and Exclusive Sneak Preview will take place at Pavilion. On the panel will be Ira Steven Behr, David Zappone, Joseph Kornbrodt, Luke Snallham, Kai de Mello, and Adam Nimoy.

Finish up the convention on Sunday with Creation Entertainment Presents: The Star Trek Rat Pack! This is a live performance with Max Grodenchik, Ethan Phillips, Vaughn Armstrong, Jeffrey Combs, and Casey Biggs with musical accompaniment by Bill Burchell and Brent Bristow. This is a free event for all attendees.
