Trek Actors Against Bullying

1 min read

William Shatner and some of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actors have thrown their support to a good cause; ending bullying.

The actors are promoting Pop Culture Hero Coalition, founded in 2013 by Chase Masterson and anti-bullying author/expert Carrie Goldman.

Last week, the actors participated in a t-shirt drive to raise money for the effort, with the proceeds “funding school programs by Pop Culture Hero Coalition to teach Star Trek‘s Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations through school curriculum to children and teens, with an emphasis on work – free of charge – in schools that cannot afford programs to end bullying.”

The Trek actors involved include Shatner, Masterson, Terry Farrell, Nana Visitor, Armin Shimerman, Max Grodenchik, Jeff Combs, Casey Biggs and Hana Hatae.

“We love our onscreen heroes,” said Masterson. “Why not be heroes, too? So many people have told us, ‘I wish you had this when I was in school.'”
