Star Trek: Discovery Rumor Mill

1 min read

Several rumors have come out regarding Star Trek: Discovery, which will debut in January.

According to Executive Producer Heather Kadin, when asked if the show would have LGBT characters in it, she said, “Obviously, that’s important to Bryan [Fuller], so that’s very important to all of us to portray.”

Meanwhile, Ain’t It Cool News is claiming that the series will take place before the original series. “There’s a big clue in the number of the ship [NCC-1031] that indicates when we’re set,” said Fuller.

The news site also asked about Section 31, and if it was coincidental that there was a 31 at the end of its registry number. “There are aspects of our first season that, depending on how well versed you are in that mythology, you could either read into it a connection,” said Fuller.”

More news on the series should come out on August 10, when Fuller will be part of a Star Trek panel at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
