Trek Saturn Awards Nominees And Special Award Winners

The 42nd Annual Saturn Awards will take place next month, and two familiar Trek names will receive special awards, while four others have been nominated for Saturn Awards.

The Saturn Awards are presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.

Nichelle Nichols will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to Star Trek, the musical arts, and genre entertainment, as well as for her “tireless support of NASA and space exploration.”

Brannon Braga will receive The Special Recognition Award in honor of his contributions to genre entertainment.

J.J. Abrams is one of the nominees for Best Film Director, going against Alex Garland, Colin Trevorrow, George Miller, Guillermo del Toro, Peyton Reed, and Ridley Scott.

William Shatner has been nominated for Best Guest Performance on a Television Series for his work on Haven.

Simon Pegg is up for Best Supporting Actor in a Film for his work on Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.

Rachel Nichols (Gaila in Star Trek (2009)) is vying for Best Actress on a Television Series for her work in Continuum.
