Roddenberry To Speak At Escape Velocity

1 min read

Rod Roddenberry, son of Gene Roddenberry, will be the keynote speaker at the Museum of Science Fiction‘s Escape Velocity convention this summer.

Roddenberry will “speak about his father’s legacy as [Star Trek] celebrates its fiftieth anniversary this year, as well as his work as president of the Roddenberry Foundation.”

“I’m looking forward to coming to Escape Velocity this summer,” said Roddenberry. “My father wanted people to think about the world around us and how we can create a brighter future. Not only will Escape Velocity be a great celebration of innovation, science fiction, and Star Trek, but it will also demonstrate how we can begin to use science fiction as an educational tool to inspire students of all ages.”

The Museum of Science Fiction uses “science fiction as a way to motivate learning in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math.”
