Antaeus Nears Funding Goal

1 min read

The fundraising effort for a new home for the Antaeus Theatre Group is nearing its goal of $75,000.

“The generosity of the entire company has been astounding,” said Armin Shimerman, best known to Trek fans as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine‘s Quark. “We are blessed to have so many passionate people in our midst whose hearts are so devoted to the arts. Having emptied our pockets, we now look to a wider community to help build our new home.”

Antaeus, formed in 1991, is a cooperative theater with one-hundred-and-eighty actors on its roster, including Shimerman, who is the co-associate director of the group. Antaeus produces “three full plays a year, stage readings, and several dozen table readings.”

The Kickstarter campaign shows $64,849 as of this writing, with eight days to go. Kickstarter campaigns are only funding if the full amount desired is raised; in this case another $10,151 needs to be raised by March 17.
