Shatner To Host Silicon Valley Comic Con Celebration

2 min read

William Shatner will be hosting a “special 50th anniversary celebration for Star Trek alongside other stars from the acclaimed TV and film series” during the Silicon Valley Comic Con next March.

Silicon Valley Comic Con (SVCC) is Steve Wozniak‘s pop culture and technology expo which “celebrates the Age of the Geek by bringing together America’s two greatest superheroes: Pop culture and technology. Featuring top celebrities, comics, independent artists, cosplay, video games, consumer electronics, music and apps, Silicon Valley Comic Con is where entertainment and our electronic worlds intersect.”

SVCC brings “top celebrities, film, TV, independent artists, comic books, cosplay, video games, music and technology to the San Jose Convention Center the weekend of March 18-20, 2016.”

“It’s only logical to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Star Trek alongside technology that was just science fiction when Star Trek first began to broadcast,” said Shatner. “I’m looking forward to participating in the inaugural Silicon Valley Comic Con.”

“Not only did Star Trek captivate a legion of science fiction lovers, it also inspired generations of engineers, scientists, directors, writers and artists,” said Wozniak. “Just like Star Trek, Silicon Valley Comic Con will bridge the gap between entertainment and technology. We have many more events and surprises planned, so fans should grab their tickets now to join all the fun.”

Tickets for the event are already on sale and the various official event hotels are offering special SVCC rates for the event. There are ticket packages ranging from the basic one day package ($50) to a VIP Platinum package ($890) which includes VIP entrance, priority panel entry, fast pass photo op line, VIP lounge access (private ATM, coat check, snacks), private autograph signing in VIP lounge with one of two special guests), a limited edition t-shirt, line hopper pass, ticket to exclusive cocktail reception with Wozniak, and a three night stay at one of three partner hotels.
