Zachary Quinto will have a guest star role on NBC’s Hannibal‘s next season.

Hannibal follows criminal profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Dr. Hannibal Lector (Mads Mikkelsen), the psychiatrist who helps with the cases, who just happens to be a serial killer himself.

Quinto will be in at least one episode of Hannibal, playing a patient of Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier’s (Gillian Anderson). He will finish filming on Hannibal before Star Trek 3 begins shooting this summer.

The third season, in which Quinto will appear at some point, will air this summer on NBC.

  1. I liked the first season of “Hannibal”, season two kinda went off the rails but came back around. Interested to see season 3. Good cast.

  2. Follow on trivia: Mads Mikkelsen’s brother Lars played both the villain in last season’s “Sherlock” (opposite Benedict Cumberbach) and as the Russian President in Season 3 of “House of Cards”.

  3. Wow, Harve Bennett passes away and you post this crap instead? Shameful. Harve has done more for Trek than Zack “Not Really Spock” Quinto will ever do!

  4. I know, right? It’s kind of a big story. In fact without Harve, there would be no Star Trek franchise for fans sites like this one to share Trek news about in the first place!

  5. I agree. It’s really disrespectful.
Quinto gues stars on a crimeshow? Who cares???

Mr. Bennett passed away. My sincere condolences.

  6. No reason in principle why they can’t report on both, but it does point to a lack of alacrity on trektoday’s part (there is that “today” in the name, after all).

  7. It is a ridiculous show but I’ve loved everything about it so far.

  8. Ought to remind you, this site’s a one-woman show, and T’Bonze’s got to sleep sometime. Also, most other daily sites have “starts” and “ends” to their days.

  9. Milo, T’Bonze doesn’t have a staff, she does this herself. Having to sleep, eat, work, go walkies, take care of kid/critter/house/car/yadda yadda might just delay posts sometimes.

  10. And I like getting all kinds of Trek news, not just deaths. Just because it’s not reported the SECOND it happens, which NO sites do anyways, doesn’t mean it won’t be. Please continue the great work that you do on this site. Thank you.

  11. I know. It’s just that I find it kind of odd that the news about Quinto (and a non-trek related at that) has priority. But I do understand that T’Bonz has other obligations besides this, and it’s not my intention to be disrespectful or anything. It’s constructive criticism.

  12. I think you have a valid point, and I think T’Bonz really should consider hiring some more staff for posting news – A site like this requires more than one person to run it!

  13. Now, now, don’t bring logic into it. 😉

I saw this story late in the evening. I normally do the news late morning/early afternoon, unless it’s rather important (like losing Nimoy. 🙁 )

Had to go out that morning, so I actually did this story that night.

Surely you don’t expect me to work 24/7, do you? I would burn out quickly and there really isn’t enough out there justifying me being here all the time (or even bringing on more people).

Don’t take this wrong, but it wasn’t an urgent story. A sad one, but not urgent.
