Details on two comics and a graphic novel to be published by IDW Publishing in January 2015 are now available.

The titles include Star Trek #41: Five-Year Mission – Spotlight/Behemoth, Part 1, Star Trek/Planet of the Apes #2, and Star Trek: The City on the Edge of Forever.

In Star Trek #41: Five-Year Mission – Spotlight/Behemoth, Part 1, the first of a two-part series, after their “century-spanning meet-up with Q, the Enterprise crew leaves explored space behind to embark on a new five-year mission of discovery. Beyond the reach of Starfleet communications, they can only rely on each other when faced with their first encounter in uncharted territory, and it could be their last.”

Overseen by Roberto Orci, Star Trek #41 is written by Mike Johnson, and features art and cover by Cat Staggs. The thirty-two page issue will cost $3.99, and there will be a subscription variant cover.

Star Trek/Planet of the Apes #2 will also make its debut in January 2015. Written by Scott & David Tipton, with art and a cover by Rachael Scott, the “unique crossover event continues, as Kirk and the Enterprise crew land on the Planet of the Apes... but how? How/why are the Klingons involved? And Taylor will encounter Kirk and Spock, but will he do so with open arms or… flying bullets?”

In addition to the story, Star Trek/Planet of the Apes #2 will feature an essay about Star Trek and Planet of the Apes by Comedian/Fan Dana Gould. The thirty-two page issue, which will cost $3.99, will also have a subscription variant cover.

COTEOF102014Star Trek: The City on the Edge of Forever will gather together all of the previously-released City on the Edge of Forever stories.

Written by Harlan Ellison, Scott Tipton & David Tipton, with art by J.K. Woodward, and a cover by Juan Ortiz, the one-hundred-and-twenty-eight page graphic novel will cost $24.99.
