Science Fiction Author Harlan Ellison is recovering in the hospital.

The eighty-year-old writer suffered a stroke last week.

Harlan’s wife Susan broke the news on Sunday, saying that “a couple of days ago Harlan had a stroke. He’s in the hospital. His right side is paralyzed.
He’s comfortable–as possible. We will keep you up-to-date with his progress.”

According to Dennis C, who visited Ellison in the hospital, “his mind is as sharp as ever; his speech is fine; his energy is volcanic as always.

“He’s a touch cookie, as everyone knows.”

That toughness is evident in a comment he made to Patton Oswalt. “I gotta go do some physical therapy on my stupid fucking arm,” he said.

Yeah, that’s Ellison all right! TrekToday wishes a speedy recovery to him.

  1. Well maybe he can go back in time and pump himself full of quartrizene and prevent the attack.
