Cumberbatch In War Of Roses Miniseries

Star Trek into DarknessBenedict Cumberbatch will soon be seen in a BBC2 historical drama.

The actor will appear in The Hollow Crown: The War of Roses, which has just begun filming.

The miniseries will include Shakespeare’s Henry VI (in three parts), and Richard III, in which Cumberbatch will play Richard III.

Joining Cumberbatch for Richard III will be Dame Judi Dench (Cecily, Duchess of York), Sophie Okonedo (Queen Margaret), Keeley Hawes (Queen Elizabeth), Geoffrey Streatfeild (Edward IV), Sam Troughton (George), Ben Daniels (Buckingham), James Fleet (Hastings) and Phoebe Fox (Anne).

The Hollow Crown: The War of Roses will debut in 2016.

  1. I realize this is TrekToday, but c’mon, I don’t think he wants to forever be known as “Star Trek Into Darkness’ Benedict Cumberbatch”.
