Trek writer/producer Brannon Braga has signed a two-year deal to develop new projects.

The deal was signed and Braga will be staying with 20th Century Fox Television.

Braga is currently the showrunner on WGN America’s Salem, which debuted earlier this spring and has recently been renewed for a second season. Salem is currently in production.

Other recent work included the popular remake of Cosmos, which Braga directed and executive produced. Cosmos was nominated for twelve Emmys, winning four.

“I’ve known Brannon for a long time, and he’s had a long and fantastic history with the Fox TV Group, going all the way back to 24,” said Fox 21 president Bert Salke. “In all of that time, I’ve never seen him do better work. He’s created a signature franchise for both Fox 21 and WGN in Salem, which is classic Brannon — brilliant storytelling, vivid characters and completely original. This deal keeps him on that important show as well as allows him to develop other hits for both cable and broadcast. We’re thrilled to be extending our relationship.”
