Those attending last week’s San Diego Comic-Con were surprised to see William Shatner in a wheelchair.

Shatner was in the wheelchair due to a leg injury.

The accident happened last weekend. “I was riding a horse and had an accident,” said Shatner. “The horse got off scot-free. I did not. I wrecked my leg.”

But Shatner wasn’t going to let an injury stop him from attending Comic-Con. “I was not going to (miss it),” he said. “In a couple of days I’ll be fine, but right now I’m in a lot of pain.”

Shatner appeared on the Legends of TV Land panel at the convention.

  1. Hope you feel better soon, Bill! I’m amazed that you’re still such an unstoppable force of nature at the age of 83 that you attend Comic Con after injuring yourself severely enough to need a wheelchair. 🙂

  2. The chair should have been a black body-encasing job that answered the audience’s questions with flashing lights for “yes” and “no”.

  3. Get well soon, Captain. From one horseman to another. I know if I make it to 83, I’ll still be riding as much as I can. They’ll get me out of the saddle when they pry the reins from my cold, dead fingers.
