Star Trek into DarknessJohn Cho has signed for Selfie, a new comedy pilot.

Selfie is a “modern take on My Fair Lady.”

In Selfie, Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan), a “self-obsessed twenty-something…is more concerned with ‘likes’ than being liked. After suffering a public and humiliating breakup, she becomes the subject of a viral video and suddenly has more social media ‘followers’ than she ever imagined — but for all the wrong reasons. She then enlists the help of a marketing expert at her company to help repair her tarnished image.”

Cho will play the “self-assured, successful marketing expert Henry, who is a different breed from today’s social media-addicted society.” Henry decides to “re-market co-worker Eliza” as a challenge.

The pilot will be written by Emily Kapnek, who will also executive produce the Warner Bros. Television project. Selfie will be directed by Julia Anne Robinson.
