Good news for Scott Bakula fans; the actor will be seen in a two-part episode of NCIS which may lead to a spinoff series set in New Orleans.

Bakula will play special agent Pride in the episodes.

Pride is to be a character who “embodies New Orleans. He’s driven by the need to do what’s right and does it all with warmth, passion, strength and humor.”

In the two episodes, which will begin filming later this month to be seen sometime this spring, “NCIS special agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will be in contact with Pride, a friend from their days in the earlier Naval Investigative Service, after the death of a mutual friend who also was an agent.”

Other characters to be included in the New Orleans NCIS spinoff will include the “no-nonsense (Brody), a government-employee façade on an Ivy League mind (and) Grace Kelly-like in her class, pomp and circumstance; and LaSalle, a local man and former sheriff’s deputy who has “been through some rough times. An outspoken female medical examiner, Dr. Wade, works with the unit.”

If the spinoff is successful, NCIS: New Orleans will air next season.

  1. Fantastic actor, great human being, legendary roles (Quantum Leap, Star Trek Enterprise, CHUCK) – suddenly very interested in NOLA!
