Star Trek into DarknessChris Pine has spoken up regarding Russia’s new anti-gay laws.

The actor is unhappy with the U.S.’s lack of response to the laws, which have drawn protests ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympics, which are being held in Sochi, Russia.

The law bans the “promotion of non-traditional relationships” to minors, and Pine called that “clearly awful, archaic, hostile nonsense.”

“I think we should do more than just send gay Olympians there,” said Pine. “What’s happening there in terms of gay rights or the lack of it is extraordinary and awful.”

The Sochi 2014 XXII Olympic Winter Games open next month.

  1. If he thinks that’s awful, he should try being a Christian in the US in about ten to fifteen years. It’s going to suck!

  2. Yep, not being able to legislate preferential treatment for your religion will cause the world to end.

  3. Would there be this kind of whining if “Russia Is Wrong” was Pine putting in his two cents about any other foreign policy issue???

  4. Yeah, I bet in ten to fifteen years, you can be carted off to Siberian prison for showing outward signs of Christianity. You totally have it just as bad as gay people in Russia, no doubt.

  5. What the frick does your comment have to do with opposing the ridiculous anti-gay laws in Russia?

  6. You extremely eloquent, your mom is really proud at you. Frickin’ faggot…
