Zoë Saldana and Ewan McGregor are both in talks for Kill the Trumpet Player.
Kill the Trumpet Player will be a biography of jazz musician Miles Davis.
Davis, born 1926, began his musical career when given his first trumpet at the age of thirteen. His career spanned five decades, and culminated in his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. Davis died in 1991.
Kill the Trumpet Player will feature Don Cheadle as Davis, and will be set in 1979. Cheadle will also direct, while Stephen J. Rivele and Chris Wilkinson will write the script. Herbie Hancock will be both musical supervisor and executive producer.
It’s not yet known which role Saldana would take in the film.
