No Crimson Peak For Cumberbatch

1 min read

Last spring, Benedict Cumberbatch signed on for Director Guillermo del Toro‘s Crimson Peak, but word comes today that Cumberbatch has backed out of the project.

Crimson Peak is a “turn of the century…gothic romance with ghosts.”

The reason for Cumberbatch’s departure was not given, other than it was not due to scheduling conflicts.

Cumberbatch will have no shortage of work though as he will be playing Alan Turing in The Imitation Game (currently in pre-production) and has voice roles in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, The Penguins of Madagascar and Magik.
