Last year, a website was unveiled in a Star Trek into Darkness clip during a scene when John Harrison was in the brig. The website was AreYouThe1701.com.
At the site, readers were urged to sign up for future updates, and were told “We will tell you when the search begins.”
The site is now soliciting input from readers in the way of Instagram or Vine to Twitter, using the #The1701 hashtag.
“Will you be one of the chosen few?” asks the site.
It’s assumed that some sort of award will come from participating in the #The1701 promotion.
