Zimmerman To Receive Award

Herman Zimmerman, best-known to Star Trek fans for his work on several Star Trek television series as well as half a dozen Star Trek films, will receive an achievement award.

The award will be presented to Zimmerman early next year.

Nominated for four Emmys for his work, Zimmerman will be receiving the Art Director Guild’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the Guild’s 17th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards on February 2, 2013.

Beginning his Trek career in 1987 on The Next Generation as Production Designer and Original Set Designer, Zimmerman worked on Deep Space Nine and Enterprise, as well as Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Star Trek: Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, and Star Trek: Nemesis.

Zimmerman also co-authored the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual.

    Not going to happen of course, but having his signature on my ST:DS9 Technical Manual truely would be a great honor.
