1 min read

Star Trek‘s George Takei is going to be the subject of a new documentary.

The documentary, filmed by Jennifer Kroot (It Came from Kuchar), will feature interviews by Star Trek co-workers as well as several politician friends of Takei.

The documentary will “delve into the defining moments of the life of Takei,” with the emphasis being on his family’s imprisonment in internment camps during World War II, Star Trek, and Takei’s life since coming out.

Star Trek castmates interviewed so far include William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and Nichelle Nichols, and the politician friends include Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii and former Representative Norman Mineta. Howard Stern has also been interviewed for the documentary.

The Takei documentary is expected to be completed in summer of 2013.
