Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s LeVar Burton visitied the White House Briefing Room yesterday.

The actor was there to interview Press Secretary Jay Carney for a segment to be used on a Reading Rainbow app.

The interview will be part of a “video field trip” that will be available courtesy of the Reading Rainbow iPad app, which was released last month.

Carney was asked why he loves being the press secretary. “I love my job because I have the incredible honor to speak for the President,” said Carney. “It’s a great honor and a great job.”

Burton did not see President Obama while at the White House.

  1. I loved “Reading Rainbow” as a child, and I’m so happy that LeVar Burton has been able to use new media to resurrect this very worthwhile project.

  2. I couldn’t agree more with Cardinal Biggles – Levar’s passion for this effort of his after so many years must be strong.
