Star Trek 2: The Growth of James T. Kirk

1 min read

Chris Pine wasn’t able to say much about Star Trek 2 in a recent interview with MTV, but he gave a little insight into the character played by Benedict Cumberbatch and was full of praise for Cumberbatch.

“There is so much happening in [the] script,” said Pine. “I can’t say much of anything.”

“As you know from Benedict, just watching him, vocally, he’s fascinating,” said Pine. “He’s got this deep resonate voice. He’s a fascinating face. He’s a lovely guy and just super smart. You want to see something firing in his brain, so he’s not just a blood-dripping-from-the-fangs bad guy. Benedict brings those kinds of smarts.”

And how will Cumberbatch’s character affect James T. Kirk? “It is structured so that the antagonist brings out all of the qualities in Kirk that need to happen in order for Kirk to grow,” said Pine.

  1. He’s fantastic in Sherlock and I can’t wait to see him as a menacing villain in this 😀

  2. All I can say is if he is play Khan like the rumors are stating I will not watch this movie, nor watch anymore of the reboots.

  3. It is known as Star Trek 2, so it’s Star Trek 2 until it has another name.

  4. I could be wrong, but I don’t think he’s going to be Khan. But even if he is, I’ll be interested to see this version of Space Seed.
