Fuller To Produce New Television Drama

Bryan Fuller, best-known to Star Trek fans for his work on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, will be the executive producer on a new drama series based on a younger version of an infamous movie character.

Gaumont International Television and Fuller will produce the new series, based on Hannibal Lecter from The Silence of the Lambs.

According to Deadline.com, Hannibal will “explore the early relationship of Thomas Harris‘ signature character, renowned psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter, and his patient, a young FBI criminal profiler named Will Graham, who is haunted by his ability to empathize with serial killers.”

Martha De Laurentiis, the producer of three Hannibal Lecter movies (Hannibal, Red Dragon and Hannibal Rising) will co-produce with Fuller.
