1 min read

Although Anton Yelchin has no new information about Star Trek XII, he does know one thing, that he would prefer J.J. Abrams to direct the movie.

MTV caught up with Yelchin at Sundance, where he was promoting his latest film Like Crazy. “I know we’re going to shoot at some point,” said Yelchin when asked about Star Trek XII, “but I really don’t know anything.”

Yelchin can’t imagine Star Trek XII without Abrams. “I think it would be very, very bizarre to do it without him,” he said. “I think the reason that movie works is because he’s so wonderful and he’s such a bright, bright fantastic human being and he just has this amazing energy. … You know, each director, it’s like Drake [Doremus of Like Crazy], Drake crafted this movie, he picked those moments so well. And he just … Seeing it on screen, you see that touch of picking the right moments, and J.J.’s like that. Like he picked the right moments, you know, and I think that’s why Star Trek people like Star Trek.
