January-February Star Trek Conventions

2 min read

There will be three conventions, shows or appearances in January and February that feature Trek actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all five of the televised series.

WizardWorld’s New Orleans Comic Con starts out the year. Held at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from January 29-30, one Star Trek guest of interest will be in attendance, Walter Koenig from the original series.

Two conventions of note will take place in February. First up is TrekTrax Atlanta, which bills itself as the “new Star Trek convention in Atlanta.” TrekTrax will take place during President’s Day weekend, February 18-20, and will be held at the Holiday Inn Atlanta Perimeter.

In attendance at TrekTrax Atlanta will be: Star Trek: Voyager‘s Tim Russ,  “Lursa and B’Etor” (Barbara March and Gwynyth Walsh), several actors associated with the Starship Farragut fan production, and several Star Trek authors.

Finishing up the month will be Vulcan Events, which will take place in Tampa on February 25-27. Vulcan has a new pricing structure with two different price levels. The $195.00 weekend price includes autographs, reserved seating and other perks. A more economical weekend price, $40.00, will make this convention affordable in these tough economical times.

Guests of interest to Star Trek fans include J.G. Hertzler and Robert O’Reilly, who will also appear briefly in full makeup and costume, Stephen Culp (Star Trek: Enterprise‘s Major Hayes), Lee Arenberg (who appeared on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise) and Star Trek author Peter David.
