Rachel Nichols In Negotiations For Criminal Minds
1 min readRachel Nichols, best-known to Star Trek fans as Gaila the Orion girl, is in negotiations to join the cast of CBS’ Criminal Minds as a series regular.
If Nichols does join Criminal Minds as a regular, she will be the first regular addition to the show since 2007, when Joe Mantegna (David Rossi) took over for Mandy Patinkin (Jason Gideon).
Originally slated to appear as FBI cadet Ashley Seaver, Nichols had signed to appear in a three-episode arc, which will begin airing this week. In the arc, Seaver is brought in to assist Reid, Prentiss, Rossi and Morgan in the search for a murderer who targets women inside a gated New Mexico community.
In Criminal Minds, the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) investigates the criminal activity of serial killers, making a profile of the killer in hopes of stopping him from committing further murders.
