Anton Yelchin is in talks for a movie reboot and Faran Tahir will be guest-starring on a SyFy show.

Yelchin, best-known to Star Trek fans for his role as Chekov in Star Trek XI, is in talks to star as Peter Parker in the reboot of Spider-Man.

Spider-Man, which will be released in 3-D on July 3, 2012. “Spider-Man is the ultimate summer movie-going experience, and we’re thrilled the filmmakers are presenting the next installment in 3-D,” said Jeff Blake, chairman of Sony Pictures Worldwide. “Spider-Man is one of the most popular characters in the world, and we know audiences are eager and excited to discover Marc [Webb]’s fantastic vision for Peter Parker and the franchise.”

Spider-Man will be up against another film in which Yelchin will definitely be appearing, Star Trek XII, which is due out June 29, 2012.

Meanwhile, another Star Trek XI actor will be appearing on SyFy’s Warehouse 13. Faran Tahir (Captain Robau), will appear on at least two episodes of the show. Tahir’s character, Adwin Kosan, will “make a startling announcement during his stint on the show, that will threaten to tear apart the team.”

Warehouse 13‘s second season will premiere on July 6.
