Trek’s Giacchino Receives BRIT Award Nomination

Star Trek XI is one of three movies up for the Soundtrack of the Year award for the 2010 Classical BRIT Awards.

The Classical BRIT Awards exist to honor the best in the world of classical music and Britain’s place at its creative heart.

The 2010 Classical BRIT Awards, in its eleventh year, will “celebrate the extraordinary wealth of artists and repertoire promoted by its UK recorded industry; honouring the previous years’ success stories along with showcasing some unique performances to an ITV1 audience.”

The three movies up for Soundtrack of the Year:

  • The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Alexandre Desplat
  • Star Trek. Michael Giacchino
  • Revolutionary Road. Thomas Newman

The Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 13 at the Royal Albert Hall.
