Giacchino Grammy Nominations

Michael Giacchino has been nominated for four Grammys, including one for the Star Trek XI soundtrack.

Giacchino was nominated in three different categories for his work on both Up and Star Trek XI.

Two nominations were Best Score Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media. The list of nominees includes:

  • The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Alexandre Desplat
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Nicholas Hooper
  • Milk. Danny Elfman
  • Star Trek. Michael Giacchino
  • Up. Michael Giacchino

Giacchino was also nominated in the Best Instrumental Composition category. The nominees in that category are:

  • Borat in Syracuse. Paquito D’Rivera
  • Counting To Infinity. Tim Davies
  • Fluffy. Bob Florence
  • Ice-Nine. Steve Wiest
  • Married Life (from Up). Michael Giacchino

The final nomination for Giacchino was for Best Instrumental Arrangement. The nominees for that category are:

  • Emmanuel. Jeremy Lubbock
  • Hope. Vince Mendoza
  • Slings And Arrows. Vince Mendoza
  • Up With End Credits (From Up). Michael Giacchino
  • West Side Story Medley. Bill Cunliffe

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards will be held on January 31, 2010, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and will be broadcast on CBS from 8-11:30 P.M.
